I’m convinced half their fleet is FCA products...

The infotainment is just a Fiat-skinned version of the Mazda system. Which is still not good.

Regarding power, Fiat’s 1.4 responds very well to chip tunes and I suspect this is what a good number of owners will do.

There are 180hp and 200hp versions of that engine in Europe, I hope they give us a hot version of the 124. Test drove an Abarth and I’d agree it felt a little slow. Was really disappointed in the exhaust actually. Still would buy one though.

True, the hatred of the FCA rental van I have right now is impacting my judgement.

I’m a V8 guy. I don’t like my 4cyl exhaust to be particularly loud. If it had been any louder it would have turned into an annoying drone. It was just enough to let me that some dead dinosaurs are exploding.

It’s a beautiful car. Needs one of Flyin’ Miatas V8 kits to make it something special.

My roommate has a 500 Abarth and I rather like its uncorked turbo noises.

I am one of those people that doesn’t really care about infotainment systems at all, but that being said, I thought the 124 has FCA’s Uconnect system, which is often heralded as being one of the best in the business....so quite surprised you say it’s not good? What were your issues with it?

I wish it had the U-Connect. It may be a re-skinned Mazda unit, but it has this control system of knobs and buttons on the center console that run the screen. Maybe you’d get used to it, but it felt so non-intuitive and disconnected from menus.
